Choosing Metadata tags can be one of the hardest things to get you head around and I am not sure that I have my head around it properly either. I have tried and experienced the extremes in not really doing anything and putting just about ever single word I can think of. The 'more' the 'better' is a common misconception with Metadata.
The main piece of advice I recieved was to avoid doing the wrong thing with metadata even more importantly than doing the right thing. Apparently 'more' is not 'better' especially if you use metadata phrases that do not appear in the content body. A search engine such as Google will punish the page if you have 'Absolute Legend ' as a Metadata tag but never mention Absolute Legend in your text. Either write your content with the desired metadata is mind or only put tags that actually appear in the text. |
