Absolute Legend - Where it began

Absolute Legend was the phrase at the centre of a challenge that was handed down to me as I started to learn about meta data and googlebots. A challenge that was accepted and conquered leaving me hungry for more but to do so let's go right back to the start.

As the man in charge of the website of Melbourne Radio station 89.9 LightFM I needed to get better traffic flow to increase the success of the station. I tried to learn all about how to rank in google searches better and I was told about SEO, and metadata, and the odd mention of googlebot kept me fascinated.

I started to teach my radio announcing staff about what I had learned so they can blog and increase the traffic to our site. As it turns out they weren't as interested as I hoped they would have been and I was teased for the team meeting we had that week. Googlebots and Metadata are words that still have our announcing team in the fetal position when heard.

However soon after they started to implement some of the ideas I gave them amazing things happened and they were laughing on the other side of their face. That's when Absolute Legend was mentioned for the first time.

A fellow manager challenged me to come up top of the search for Absolute Legend and I accepted the challenge with a week to achieve the goal.

The challenge was met but I have been asked a lot of questions about the things that I did and I also have my personal site that I need to get traffic to so thus the beginning of SEO for Dummies. I am going to attempt to get traffic for the Luke and Susie website, track and blog on the things I did to try and make it happen and give you specific stats on whether it works or not.

I hope you enjoy the ride, I have success, and it helps other people who struggle to understand the language techs speak to get better traffic for your site.
